The Resident, Paul Bellantonio

By Kyrenia Blanshard

This month, our Resident Paul Bellantonio lives in Mosman and is currently the President of the Mosman Junior Rugby Club (MJRC). Paul and his family have an active lifestyle and love getting outdoors to run, swim or surf. His children play for MJRC and most weekends you’ll find him at Rawson Oval cheering on the teams.

Paul shares his local favourites with us, why he loves living in Mosman and tells us exactly how he got involved with the MJRC.

You’re a Mosman resident, what do you love about the area?
Mosman is a fantastic area to live and raise a family. We love the beaches, the various walking tracks and the family-oriented community. We feel very fortunate to be able to provide this environment for our children and the many wonderful experiences that it offers.

Anything you don’t love?
The traffic along Spit Road.

Can you share with us your favourite spot for a coffee/drink?
For coffee and bread, our favourite is La Banette. We also enjoy breakfast on the weekend at Cafe Mosman. For a drink, I go for a beer in the front bar at The Buena or for something more formal, a G&T in Juniper Lane.

And for a feed?

Bistro Mosman or Public Dining Room in Balmoral.

Any local hidden gems you’d be kind enough to share with us?
Grumpy’s Wharf at The Spit.

What’s your favourite room in your place?
The kitchen – it’s where the family comes together. In summer, we open up the doors and are able to look out over the yard and pool, watching the kids play.

Describe your perfect weekend…
I’m an early riser, so it would involve a morning walk/run around Rawson Oval and down to Clifton Gardens with my wife, Sharice and our chocolate Labrador, Baci. We’d then head home for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach and watching the kids play sport. Sunday would be much the same with a few drinks and early BBQ dinner with family or friends back at our place.

Finally, how did you get involved with the Mosman Junior Rugby Club?
Rugby has always been part of my life, either as a player or more recently as a coach. So, when the opportunity came up to become involved with MJRC, it was meant to be. I am incredibly proud to be part of a great junior rugby club. One that is community-based and provides an opportunity for young girls and boys to learn the great game of rugby and be part of a team. We are also fortunate to have such committed sponsors, like Ray White Lower North Shore Group, who provide us with the support to deliver the best junior rugby experience for all our families.

We’re very proud to be one of the club’s main sponsors for over 25 years. If you’re interested in your child playing rugby for the Mosman Junior Rugby Club, please visit their website – mosmanjrc.org.au
