Cammeray

Positioned less than 5km from the Sydney CBD, the suburb of Cammeray is unbeatably central yet immersed in greenery with an endearing sense of community. Cammeray takes its name from the Cammeraygal people, an Aboriginal clan that originally occupied the area. A leafy family-centric locale within a stone’s throw of the City, Cammeray residents enjoy the best of both worlds. Cammeray Public School is regarded as one the best on the North Shore. An overwhelming demand for schooling resulted in the new Anzac Park Public School being built in 2016. Transport has never been easier, Cammeray is littered with bus stops and is a short distance to North Sydney Train Station, St Leonards Train Station and the highly anticipated Crows Nest Metro Station. Located on the fringe of the Harbour Bridge and freeway approaches, Cammeray enjoys rapid access to the airport, Eastern Suburbs, Upper North Shore and Western Suburbs.

A major drawcard for Cammeray residents is the acclaimed Cammeray Public School. An overwhelming demand for schooling resulted in the new Anzac Park Public School being built in 2016. Tunks Park

Positioned upon the shores of Middle Harbour, Tunks Park is surrounded by bushland and provides a sports oval, playground and off-leash dog park.

Cammeraygal Laneway: A small pedestrian-only laneway is a local hotspot for a relaxing weekend coffee and brunch.

Northbridge Suspension Bridge: Known as the gateway to North Sydney linking the harbourside suburbs of Cammeray and Northbridge, the Northbridge Suspension Bridge was opened in 1892.

Shopping Hubs

Miller Street is Cammeray’s main commercial hub and Stockland Cammeray is the place to go to for a mix of shopping, dining and professional services. Close to mainstream supermarkets in Neutral Bay and Northbridge, Cammeray is also central to major shopping centres namely Westfield Chatswood, Chatswood Chase, Warringah Mall and Greenwood Plaza.

Eateries & Nightlife

Stockland Shopping Centre is Cammeray’s go-to place where kids can play safely while parents watch on from the alfresco dining cafes and restaurants. Miller Street has its own cafe scene that spills out onto the footpaths and courtyards. The small bar culture has also been welcomed into Cammeray. A local institution, Norths Leagues Club is a firm favourite amongst longtime residents.

Health

Well equipped for quality health care, Cammeray offers a number of full service medical centres and speciality health practitioners around Miller Street and the Stockland Shopping Centre. Cammeray is also convenient to larger hospitals such as Royal North Shore, North Shore Private and The Mater in nearby St Leonards and neighbouring Crows Nest.

Tunks Park on Middle Harbour with its bushland and walking trails is a popular with weekend sports enthusiasts including boaties launching small vessels into the harbour. Cammeray Golf Course is nestled nearby Cammeray Tennis Courts and Green Park Village.

Norths Fitness is located within Norths Leagues Club, a number of personal trainers, yoga instructors and pilates instructors also hold daily classes within Cammeray.
