The Block entry finalist lists renovated Cremorne home

A CREMORNE home owned by Anita Devi — who just missed out on making it into Channel 9’s The Block — is on the market after a major renovation.Ms Devi bought the three-bedroom townhouse at 1/77 Grasmere Rd in May intending to keep it but after an extensive renovation has listed it with $2 million — $2.2 million hopes.Ms Devi previously worked in the banking and finance industry and after renovating a friend’s home and then her daughter’s property, found she had a knack for flipping homes. Her Cremorne property was initially meant to be her “forever home” but after renovating it, she decided to put it back on the market.

The new, renovated kitchen and open-plan dining area.

“I did a complete renovation when I bought the property. I demolished the townhouse and stripped it from top to bottom. I took out the kitchen wall and then put in a drop ceiling,” she said.“I have put in all new lights and blinds and new floors. I moved the hot water system and opened up the kitchen and built a new pantry.”Ms Devi said when it comes to flipping homes, she takes the work very seriously.“I work fast when I am focused on the building work. I don’t muck around and I do a lot of physical work myself.”

She has no plans to leave the area once the property is sold.“I love Neutral Bay and the Cremorne area, it’s such a wonderful community. I’m going to look for a new residence in this area.”Her Cremorne property is listed with Ray White Lower North Shore selling agents Clare Passlow and Chris Girling.“We sold it to Anita in completely original condition and she’s almost completed the work in four months. It’s a complete renovation from top to bottom,” Ms Passlow said.“The floorplan was always solid and had good bones. A lot of little clever things like relocating the hot water system outside to an instantaneous and then using the space as a lovely big pantry were great.”Ms Devi and her daughter Maureen Sharma were entry finalists for the 2016 season of The Block.
